The family of Lt. Commander Landon Jones has invited the Patriot Guard Riders to attend the services for their Hero, we would be honored to do so.

LCDR Landon Jones always had a plan to serve in the U.S. Navy, he worked very hard throughout school to over achieve and applied to the U.S. Naval Academy, was accepted and graduated from the Academy in 2001.  He served proudly, becoming a helicopter pilot and perished as he was attempting a landing on a Navy destroyer in the Red Sea.  He and another pilot were never recovered and were lost at sea.

LCDR Jones attended Cabrillo High School, where he played football as a linebacker for the Conquistadors.  He was remembered by the teachers, coaches and friends as a 'team player' and someone you could always count on.  One classmate who is now a teacher at Cabrillo says 'I remember him just being a really nice person, being kind to everybody'.

LCDR Jones is survived by his wife Theresa and 2 sons Anthony John 6, and Hunter Landon 3 months, mother Debbi, father Larry-retired Santa Barbara Co. FD Capt., brother Nolan-current Lompoc PD, many other relatives and friends.

His uncle, Mitch Laing from Santa Rosa, is a Sr. R/C for the PGR in the Northbay area and will attend. There will be a Missing Man (including Mitch) accompaniment consisting of 5 riders from the family home to the church assisted by PD. All others will stage at church location.

NOTE: This mission posting is to facilitate your voluntary participation in honoring this American Hero.

You do not have to be a Veteran or a motorcycle rider to attend this mission. Everyone is welcome. We encourage those who do not ride to attend in your car. If this will be your first mission go to the initial staging area and you will be briefed there by the R/C (Ride Captain).  Dress for motorcycle riding or dress casually if you are driving a cage (car).  Please feel free to attend any portion of this mission you can.  Please ride/drive safely.
