This will be a 2 part mission The family of Patrick J. Vesey Jr. has invited the Patriot Guard Riders to attend his memorial service and later interment, it would be our honor to do so.
Patrick J. Vesey Jr. enlisted in the US Marine Corps in 1964 and served in Vietnam with the 1st Battalion, 9th Marine Regiment known as the "Walking Dead", the unit was given that nickname when they suffered the highest number of Killed In Action in the Vietnam War. Our Hero, Patrick J. Vesey Jr., was honorably discharged in 1967 at the rank of Corporal. Cpl Vesey was a Rifle Expert and Rifle Instructor while with the Corps. He, like many of his unit, had a $10,000 bounty on his head from the Viet Cong.
In civilian life Pat had a successful career in Sales Management, he was Vice President of Sales for Kodak. Pat loved classic cars and was founder and active member of The Drifters Car Club. He was a very avid Veteran supporter and instrumental in many charities to benefit the local community and veterans.
Due to his involvement of many years in the car clubs, many of his friends with The Drifters, The Axle Draggers and The Cadillac Kings will be present for his service, it is expected that up to 90 Classic Cars with their owners will attend.
Pat is survived by his wife Jean Vesey, and sons Patrick III and Sean.
This Hero succumbed to illnesses related to his exposure to Agent Orange in Vietnam, this is a Combat Related Mission, there will be dog tags. This will be a two part mission, Part 1 will be his memorial service on June 04, 2015, Part 2 will be interment at a later date TBA. NOTE: This mission posting is to facilitate your voluntary participation in honoring this Military Veteran.

You do not have to be a Veteran or a motorcycle rider to attend this mission. Everyone is welcome. We encourage those who do not ride to attend in your car. If this will be your first mission go to the initial staging area and you will be briefed there by the R/C (Ride Captain). Dress for motorcycle riding or dress casually if you are driving a cage (car). Please feel free to attend any portion of this mission you can. Please ride/drive safely.
