We are honored the Gardena Police Department and family of Police Officer Toshio Hirai invites the Patriot Guard Riders to participate in his funeral services.

Officer Hirai grew up in the City of Gardena and was a 12 year veteran of the Gardena Police Department.  During his tenure, Officer Hirai served as a patrol officer, SWAT officer, traffic investigator and motor officer.  Additionally, Officer Hirai spoke five languages enhancing his value to his community and police department.

Officer Hirai was a mentor to many Gardena Police Officers and would go out of his way to help others.

On Thursday, 15 NOV 18, Officer Hirai was involved in a traffic collision on his way to work and succumbed to his injuries.

Officer Hirai is survived by his wife, Kristin and son, Takeo, 2 years old.

We encourage those who do not ride to attend in their car.  If this is your first mission, please go to the initial staging area and you will be briefed by the Ride Captain (R/C).  Please feel free to attend any portion of this mission.  Please ride/drive safely.
