The family of SPC Arthur Lee Narmi has invited the Patriot Guard Riders to attend his journey to his final resting place for military honors.  It will be our honor and privilege to do so.

Arthur was born on 02 September 1937 and took his final breath on 24 December 2019 at the age of 82.

Arthur enlisted into the US Army in 08 August 1960 and served during the Vietnam Era in Korea.  He was discharged 07 August 1966 with the rank of SPC.  He received the following Awards serving our country:  Sharpshooter Rifle, Marksman Pistol and the Good Conduct ribbon.

After his discharge, Arthur became a respiratory therapist.  He liked drinking coffee and sitting in his recliner. He was a big Iowa Hawkeyes fan.  Arthur also enjoyed dressing up every Christmas as Santa Claus, and driving around the neighborhood giving candy canes and wishing everyone in his community a Merry Christmas.

Arthur is survived by his wife, Lois, and his living siblings, John and Catherine. There are also five living children, 11 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

The family has requested an accompaniment from the funeral home to Riverside National Cemetery. Please bring your big flags if you have any.

NOTE: This mission posting is to facilitate your voluntary participation in honoring this American Hero. For those interested, and all are welcome, we will be accompanying the hero and his family from the mortuary to Riverside National Cemetery, approx 45 miles. Please see the time table if you would like to participate. For those who would rather go directly to the mortuary, we will meet you there.
