The Family of John Robert Williams, USA, has invited the Patriot Guard Riders to attend the Military Honors of their loved one as he makes his final journey. It will be our honor to do so.

John was born Wilkes-Barre, PA on April 5, 1925 and passed away of natural causes. He is survived by his loving wife and 3 sons, Jeff, Kevin and Curtis. John earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology and Sociology. After his service in the USA, John was an Industrial Engineer for over 48 years.

John served in the United States Army from 29 July 1943 to 04 February 1946 in World War II and was called back from inactive duty serving from 29 September 1950 to 04 October 1951 in the Korean War. He was a Corporal 5th Infantry Division/Rifleman 745 with the specialty of Tractor Scraper in the Corps Of Engineers at the time of his honorable discharge. John was awarded the Good Conduct Medal, American Campaign Medal, European African Middle Eastern Campaign Medal with 1 Bronze Star, World War II Victory Medal and Korea Service Medal with 2 Bronze Camp Stars.

NOTE: This mission posting is to facilitate your voluntary participation in honoring this Military Veteran. For those interested, and all PGR members are welcome, we will be accompanying the hero and his family from the mortuary to his final resting place. Please see the timetable if you would like to participate. For those who would rather go directly to the cemetery, we will meet you there.

You do not have to be a Veteran or a motorcycle rider to attend this mission. All PGR members welcome. We encourage those who do not ride to attend in your car. If this will be your first mission go to the initial staging area and you will be briefed there by the R/C (Ride Captain). Dress for motorcycle riding or dress casually if you are driving a cage (car). Please feel free to attend any portion of this mission you can. Please ride/drive safely.

Please remember that our mission is to stand tall and silent, and with honor and respect for our Heroes. No talking, smoking, or cell phone use during the flag line or service. Please keep radios off and engine noise to a minimum. Observe the 15 MPH speed limit. Remember, cemeteries are hallowed ground. Show respect to all who are there, not just the ones we are honoring.
