The PGR has been invited by the Family of George Anthony Otero, age 70, to honor their Hero for his military service, and accompany to his final resting place, it is our privilege to do so.

SSG George A. Otero, served 20 yrs in the US Army, from 1968 to 1972 and 1987 to 2003, he achieved the rank of Staff Sgt (E-6) before his retirement. Medals and awards //Army Achievement Medal // National Defense Medal Service Medal   // NCO Professional Development Ribbon // Army Service Ribbon // Good conduct medal // Overseas Service Ribbon.

George was born in Puerto Rico to his parents Miguel and Heriberta Otero August 8, 1950. He was born into a military family that traveled all over the world. His open-minded outlook on life was attributed to his exposure to a variety of cultures.

George met the love of his life Haydee in Panama at Cristobal Canal Zone. After graduation from high school, he served in the military. When his first tour in the Army was complete, he married Haydee and began their new life voyage in Los Angeles, California, where they welcomed their three children Elizabeth, Susan, and George Jr., to their first home in Sun Valley, CA. George and Haydee relocated their family to Quito, Ecuador, in the early '80s. In 1984 George and Haydee moved their family back to Sun Valley, CA. George returned to the Army soon after.

George Anthony Otero Sr. passed away on December 26, 2020, in Palmdale, California. He was a beloved Husband, Father, and Grandfather. George is survived by his loving and devoted wife Haydee Otero, children Mary Elizabeth Otero, Susan Iris Rainer, George Anthony Otero Jr., and grandchildren Sarah Docherty, Amanda Docherty, Sean Docherty, George Otero, and Jocelyn Otero.
