The family of Gary Stewart Chase, 70, has invited the Patriot Guard Riders to be present to honor their hero for his service to his country.  It will be our privilege to do so.

Gary Stewart Chase served proudly in the US Army 1965 to 1968 achieving the rank of SP5, Specialist 5 (E-5) prior to his honorable discharge.  He became a Paratrooper then joined the Special Forces, Green Beret at Fort Bragg, NC.  He was deployed to the Vietnam War where he was awarded National Defense Service Medal, National Defense Service, Vietnam Campaign Medal and Vietnam Service Medal.

Gary was a machinist in the aerospace business.  He grew up loving to fish and being active in water sports. He was known as a quiet, smart, dependable friend.  He had a great sense of humor that only his close friends knew.

He loved to push the limit as he grew up. Always ready for a challenge.  He enrolled in the Army on a buddy system in 1965 with a good friend and was with him thru basic training until he became a paratrooper and moved on.

Gary is survived by one daughter Shannon Aman, son Bret Chase and 4 Grandchildren, Raini, Dominik, Gavin and Liam.
