The family of SFC George C. Segerstrom has asked the Patriot Guard Riders to attend the services of their Hero, we would be honored to do so.
 
George was born May 7, 1928 in Homer, Nebraska. He entered the US Navy at 17 yrs of age in May 1945, he served 24 years in the US Navy & US Army, in WWII, Korea and Vietnam.  He was in Army Intelligence and retired as a Sergeant First Class in August, 1969.
 
George has also been serving for the last 15 years with a program connected with the police departments called VIPS, and also with several other programs including with the Veterans Service Center at Los Alamitos Joint Training Base.  He logged over 18,000 hours of volunteer service and continued doing this up til just a couple of weeks before his passing.
 
George is survived by his daughter Judy Barrett, predeceased by his son Roy who passed in Feb, 2013 and wife of 45 years Irene who passed in 2000, he is also survived by his companion Patricia Blum, a sister and 2 grandchildren.
 
NOTE: This mission posting is to facilitate your voluntary participation in honoring this Military Veteran. For those interested, and all are welcome, we will be accompanying the hero and his family from the mortuary services to his final resting place. Please see the time table if you would like to participate. For those who would rather go directly to the cemetery, we will meet you there.

You do not have to be a Veteran or a motorcycle rider to attend this mission. Everyone is welcome. We encourage those who do not ride to attend in your car.  If this will be your first mission go to the initial staging area and you will be briefed there by the R/C (Ride Captain).  Dress for motorcycle riding or dress casually if you are driving a cage (car).
