The Patriot Guard has been invited by the family of Ret. Marine Corps SSgt. Robert Van Schaack to honor him for his service to our country.  We are privileged to attend.

SSgt. Robert Van Schaack was a 20 year veteran of the US Marine Corps.  He was part of the Drum & Bugle Corps and was stationed in Iwakuni Japan, North Carolina, Virginia, Guam, Hawaii, and Camp Pendleton.  He received many letters, as well as medals during his service.

After retiring from his career in the US Marines, Robert retired after 20 years with the U.S. Postal Service. He was a driver for the Golden Door Spa for a couple years and joined the CHP as a volunteer from approx 2005 until his passing.  He loved to ride his motorcycle and was a member of the Paladins Motorcycle Club for many years.

Robert is survived by his 3 daughters, Kathleen Calsbeck, Suzi VanSchaack and Sandy Huntington.  He also left behind 4 granddaughters, 1 grandson, and 1 great-granddaughter.
