It is an honor the family of Samuel L. Lopresto invited the Patriot Guard Riders to participate in his funeral and military honors.

Samuel was born in Salt Lake City, Utah, 11 MAY 26, and passed away 6 APR 17.

Samuel enlisted in the Navy and on 15 SEP 44 was deployed as a Ship to Shore radioman with the 1st Marine Division when they landed on Peleliu Island to capture an air strip.  This was part of a larger offensive known as Operation Forager.  Soldier for soldier Peleliu was known as the bloodiest battle of the Pacific during the war.

After WWII Sam re-enlisted in the Army serving 6 years in Paris, France and was one of the lead people in forming the Communications Division, at Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe (SHAPE).

After the Army Sam enlisted in the Air Force and served for 12 years and was honorably discharged in 1967.  He retired with the rank of Tech Sergeant, E-6, after having served in WWII, and during both the Korea and Vietnam eras.

In civilian life Sam was known as one of the foremost Numismatic (Stamp & coin) dealers in the country.  He owned and operated one of the largest coin, stamp and sports card shows in the country.

Sam was a loving husband, father, and a very proud and patriotic Veteran.  He is survived by his two sons, Robert and Danny.
