!! UPDATE - TIME CHANGE - SEE NEW UPDATED TIME TABLE BELOW !!

The family of Deputy Amber Joy Leist and the Los Angeles County Sheriff Department invites the Patriot Guard Riders to participate in their loved one's funeral services. We are honored to accept this invitation.

Deputy Leist was a 12-year veteran of the Los Angeles Sheriff Department assigned to the Detective Bureau at West Hollywood Sheriff Station.

On 12 JAN 2020, at approximately 1105 hrs, Deputy Leist was off duty and stopped at a traffic light at Riverside Drive and Whitsett Ave., Los Angeles, CA.  She observed an elderly lady fall in the crosswalk unable to get to her feet.  Deputy Leist exited her vehicle and ran to the aid of the elderly lady.  After assisting her safely to the sidewalk, Deputy Leist returning to her vehicle was struck by another vehicle.  Tragically, Deputy Leist died from her injuries.

Deputy Leist is survived by her two sons, Daniel Laney, 17 years old and Walter Laney, 20 years old (currently serving in the Navy).

Note:  This is to facilitate your voluntary participation in honoring this Law Enforcement Hero.
