The family of Dale Wayne Polley (66 USMC/LEO) have invited the Patriot Guard Riders to honor their loved one at her final service.  We are honored to accept this invitation.

Dale Wayne Polley passed away on April 10, 2017 in his home in Inyokern, California, with his wife Cheryl by his side.  Dale was a private person so his friends and acquaintances may not have known he was diagnosed with ALS.  This disease robbed him of everything that he loved to do, but now he is riding his beloved Harley in Heaven.

Dale was born in Ridgecrest, California on June 23, 1950 to Sammie and Forrest Polley and was the oldest of three boys.  As a child his family moved between Oklahoma, Colorado, and Oregon, but  eventually they found their way back to Ridgecrest and settled down.  Dale graduated from Sherman E. Burroughs High School in January of 1969, and in less than a week was at the Marine Corp boot camp.  After getting an early medical retirement from the Marine Corp Dale worked in Ridgecrest as a Postal Worker and a Reserve Police Officer for Ridgecrest Police Department.  In 1977 he became a fulltime Police Officer with the China Lake Police Department.  Dale and Cheryl were married on December 31, 1986. They each brought a set of twins to the marriage so their house was always full of kids and family pets. Despite loving law enforcement  Dale decided to retire from China Lake in September 2004, he retired with 29 years of law enforcement and a total of 34 years of working for the Federal Government.  Dale spent his retirement riding his Harley, working on his house, and traveling to see his and Cheryl's kids.

He was proceeded in death by his parents Sammie and Forrest Polley and his younger brother Lealon Polley.  He is survived by his wife Cheryl Polley of Inyokern; daughter Cassie Polley of El Cajon, California; daughter and son-in-law Cammie and Jason Clarke of Magnolia, Texas; son and daughter-in-law Josh and Lori Dunn of Edwards; son Jeromy Dunn of Ringoes, New Jersey; and grandchildren Josie and Jasper Clarke of Magnolia, Texas.

There will be military graveside services at Desert Memorial Cemetery in Ridgecrest, on Thursday April 20th at 11:00 am. A get together  for family and friends will follow at the family home in Inyokern following the services.
