The family of Ben Joe Baca, Vietnam Vet, has invited the Patriot Guard to honor their Hero, we would be honored to do so.  This invitation came through the Ride Captain for the mission, Willie Zamora, a lifelong friend of the Hero.

Ben Baca was in the U.S. Army in '67 & '68, and served in Vietnam.  After the war he went into the trucking business and worked for Hadley Transport for many years until he retired.

Ben was born in Tome, New Mexico very near where Willie also grew up and they went to the same schools as kids.  Ben and Willie both shared a love of riding motorcycles and shared the roads on many a ride through the years, including Run For The Wall, a trip to Washington, DC. A journey that many Vietnam Vets make to remember their fallen brothers.  Ben was on his way back from participating in Run For The Wall when he went down on his motorcycle and didn't make it, he passed away on Monday, 19 May.

Ben also had a great love for Hot Rods and belonged to a Hot Rod club for many years.

Ben was the kind of man who gained friends and respect every where he went, people just loved to be around him, he will be missed.

Ben is survived by his wife Glenda, daughter Yvonne, son Mario, 4 grandchildren, and many more relatives and dear friends both here in So Calif and in New Mexico.

This will be a memorial service for Ben at his church, with military honors. There will be no interment.

NOTE: This mission posting is to facilitate your voluntary participation in honoring this Military Veteran.
