The family of Juanito Mungcal DeOcampo has invited the Patriot Guard Riders to attend the Military Honors of their loved one.  It will be our privilege to fulfill the request for their hero.

Juanito worked on C130 aircraft, flying to deliver military supplies to combat missions to Vietnam. After Vietnam, he was assigned to the 6594th Test Group in Honolulu.  While in Hawaii, his group had the unusual task to “catch & retrieve” capsules mid-air upon their return from orbiting satellites.  The nickname for the evolution was Catching a Falling Star. Our hero retired as a Master Sergeant, E7.

Besides his hobbies of golfing, gardening and being a handyman, he enjoyed his family especially his only 2 grandchildren: JJ and Jordin.

Our hero is survived by his wife Yong Suk Deocampo, and their sons Jesse and Jeff and spouse Elita.

The Deocampo family and friends will proceed directly to Miramar National.  Glen Abbey will convey the hero to Miramar National.

NOTE: This mission posting is to facilitate your voluntary participation in honoring this Military Veteran.  For those interested, all PGR members are welcome.  This Mission is a Flag Line of Honor at Miramar National Cemetery. Please see the timetable if you would like to participate.

You do not have to be a Veteran or a motorcycle rider to attend this mission. All PGR members are welcome. We encourage those who do not ride to attend in your car. If this is your first mission, go to the initial staging area, and you will be briefed by the R/C (Ride Captain). Dress for motorcycle riding or wear casual attire while driving a cage (car). Please feel free to attend any portion of this mission you can. Please ride/drive safely.

Remember that our mission is to stand tall and silent with honor and respect for our Heroes—no talking, smoking, or cell phone use during the flag line or service. Please keep radios off and engine noise to a minimum. Show respect to all who are there, not just the ones we honor.
