The family of Air Force veteran Louis Michael Russo have asked the Patriot Guard to be with them as they lay their hero and loved one to rest.  We are honored to be able to fulfill their request.

Louis was a native Californian, born in San Jose in 1942.  During his four years in the Air Force, he attained the rank for Airman First Class (A1C) as an Aircraft Mechanical Technician.  He was awarded several awards and commendations including: Air Force Outstanding Unit Award, Air Force Good Conduct Medal, and the Air Force Expeditionary Medal.

NOTE: This mission posting is to facilitate your voluntary participation in honoring this Military Veteran.  For those interested, all PGR members are welcome.  This Mission is an accompaniment from the mortuary to Bakersfield National Cemetery. If you wish to go directly to the cemetery, we will meet you there. Please see the timetable if you would like to participate.

1120 - Mission Briefing

1130 - Flag line for dignified transfer of our hero to the coach and KSU to Bakersfield National Cemetery.

1230 - Flag Line as our hero is moved to the shelter for Military Honors.

You do not have to be a Veteran or ride a motorcycle to attend this mission. ALL PGR members are welcome. We encourage those who do not ride to attend in your car. If this is your first Mission go to the initial staging area and you will be briefed there by the Ride Captain (R/C). Dress for motorcycle riding or dress casually if you are driving a cage (Car). Please feel free to attend any portion of this mission you can. Please ride/drive safely.           
   
Please remember that our Mission is to stand tall and silent, with Honor and respect for our Heroes. No talking, smoking and please silence and don’t use your Cell phones during the flag line and service. Please keep radios off and engine noise to a minimum. Observe the 15-mph speed limit. Remember Cemeteries are hallowed ground. Show respect to all who are there, not just the ones we are honoring.
