The family of SSgt Justin Vandervort, 29, has invited the Patriot Guard Riders to be present for his arrival home and funeral services, we would be honored to be there.

SSgt Justin Vandervort enlisted in the US Air Force in 2009 and was serving with in a special duty position as an instructor, a program designed to guide new airmen through their transition from technical training to the operational Air Force. Vandervort was assigned to the 52nd Medical Operations Squadron at Spangdahlem AFB, Germany.

Sadly he passed away unexpectedly and is coming home for burial we will be there to honor him.

SSgt Vandervort is survived by his wife and other family members.

NOTE: This mission posting is to facilitate your voluntary participation in honoring this American Hero. For those interested, and all are welcome, we will be accompanying the hero and his family from the airport to the mortuary, approximately 52 miles. Please see the time table if you would like to participate. For those who would rather go directly to the mortuary, we will meet you there.

IMPORTANT: There is a NEW LOCATION FOR THE USO in the LAX Theme Building on the arrivals level. Park in the loading dock area that is on the south side of the building. The USO entrance is located on the east side of the building.

This mission involves an aircraft arrival. Arrival times can change at the last minute so please check this thread for any last minute changes before leaving

You do not have to be a Veteran or a motorcycle rider to attend this mission. Everyone is welcome. We encourage those who do not ride to attend in your car. If this will be your first mission go to the initial staging area and you will be briefed there by the R/C (Ride Captain).  Dress for motorcycle riding or dress casually if you are driving a cage (car).  Please feel free to attend any portion of this mission you can.  Please ride/drive safely.
