The family of Richard Thomas Quinn, 73, MLFN, United States Navy, Ridgecrest and Whittier, CA has invited the Patriot Guard Riders/American Legion Riders to accompany and attend services for their HERO at Rose Hills park, Hillside Chapel in Whittier, CA. on Saturday, June 6, 2026. We are Honored to accept their request.
Richard “Rick” Thomas Quinn was born on December 11, 1952, in Whittier, CA and passed away peacefully on May 20, 2026.
Rick enlisted in the Navy as a Molder on September 20, 1972, and served on the USS HECTOR (AR-7) until his Honorable discharge on June 20, 1974, as an MLFN (E3), in San Diego, CA.
Rick loved riding his Harley Davidson and was a proud member of the American Legion Riders post 684 and the local IWV Patriot Guard Riders, while living in Ridgecrest, CA. He enjoyed going into the mountains to fish and will be missed by all.
He is survived by his sisters Pat Chacon and Terry Talon, children: Heather, Shane and Ryan Quinn and 5 grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held at 3pm on Saturday June 6, 2026, at Rose Hills, Hillside Chapel in Whittier, CA with a reception to follow from 5-7pm at the Garden View reception room.
NOTES: This mission posting is to facilitate your voluntary participation in honoring this United States Navy Veteran. For those interested, and all PGR members are welcome, we will be accompanying the hero and his family from Hillside Chapel of Rose Hills to his final place of rest, following services, approximately one mile away. Please see the timetable and details below.

Procession Vehicle order from Chapel will be: Missing Man formation, Coach, Guardian Angel bikes x2, immediate family vehicles, remaining bikes, remaining procession.
NOTES: ALL TIMES ARE APPROXIMATE. The weather is forecasted to be clear and warm at 92 degrees in Ridgecrest to clear and cool in Whittier with a high of 71 degrees please dress accordingly and stay hydrated. For those returning to Ridgecrest same day please ride in pairs or as a group approximate departure from Whittier will be 1800 for me. Same route returning with a fuel stop at Pilot Travel Center in Hesperia.
