The family of ENCS Manolo Feliciano Cruz has invited the Patriot Guard Riders to be present to honor their hero for his service to his country. It will be our privilege to do so.
Manolo was born in 1939 and he joined the United States Navy when he was 19 in 1959, as Steward/ Cook. He went to the NTC in San Diego for Boot Camp. Manolo then went to the Submarine School in New London, CT. Aboard the USS Piper and USS Sablefish, diesel engine Submarines, he made frequent trips from the East Coast to different US Navy Bases in the Mediterranean Countries. Manolo went for 2 years to Pensacola, FL. His last duty station was in San Diego. Manolo changed rate and retired as Senior Chief Engineman. He was awarded 6 medals and certificates for good conduct. Also retired as a Diesel Engine Inspector. He was on active duty during the Cold war, the Vietnam War eras, and the Cuban conflict.
In his civilian life, Manolo worked in heating, ventilation and air-conditioning Companies as lead technician. The last company he worked for was A.O. Reed Mechanical.
Manolo was married to Teresa B. Cruz, and they had two children, Daniel Roy Cruz and Diane Cruz Ayala. They also had 3 grandchildren.
NOTE: This mission posting is to facilitate your voluntary participation in honoring this Military Veteran. For those interested, all PGR members are welcome. This Mission will be an accompaniment from El Camino Memorial Park to Miramar National Cemetery, approx.5 miles. Please see the timetable if you would like to participate. For those who would rather go directly to the cemetery, we will meet you there.

NOTE: You do not have to be a Veteran or a motorcycle rider to attend this mission. All PGR members are welcome. We encourage those who do not ride to attend in your car. If this is your first mission, go to the initial staging area, and you will be briefed by the R/C (Ride Captain). Dress for motorcycle riding or wear casual attire while driving a cage (car). Please feel free to attend any portion of this mission you can. Please ride/drive safely.
Remember that our mission is to stand tall and silent with honor and respect for our Heroes—no talking, smoking, or cell phone use during the flag line or service. Please keep radios off and engine noise to a minimum. Show respect to all who are there, not just the ones we honor.
