Part 2 of 2 Parts

The family and the US Army have invited the Patriot Guard Riders to be present for the arrival and funeral of a great American Hero, CPL Ysabel A. Ortiz, age 19.  We are honored to be there.

CPL Ysabel Arrendono Ortiz, or "Mac" as he was known to friends and family, was serving with the US Army in North Korea near the Chosin Reservior when he was involved in a battle on Dec 2, 1950, in which a tremendous number of American lives were lost.  CPL Ortiz was not found at the end of that battle and his remains have been lost until recently when North Korea released many remains to the US after our President traveled there to meet with their leader.

CPL Ortiz has now been identified and is being returned to his family and his home here on American soil for his proper burial with honors after nearly 69 years.

CPL Ortiz was serving with 15th AAA-AW Battalion Battery ā€œDā€ at the time he went missing, and was awarded the following awards and medals for his leadership and valor, Purple Heart, Korean Service Medal (triple Bronze Star attachment), National Defense Service Medal, United Nations Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Republic of Korea War Service Medal, Combat Infantryman Badge, Republic of Korea Presidential Unit Citation.

CPL Ortiz is survived by family members and friends and the PGR who will never forget him and his sacrifice for our freedom.
