The family of CPO Nick Burneff has invited the Patriot Guard Riders to be present to honor their hero for his service.  It will be our privilege to do so.

Nick Burneff, 76, proudly served in the U.S. Navy from 1962 until 1986 when he retired as a Chief Petty Officer. Nick was a Cryptotech and asked to be TAD with submarines during the Vietnam War.  He spent many years of Vietnam on 90 day rotations.

Nick loved to mentor younger sailors that wanted to learn.  He met his wife in 1972 when they were both stationed in Japan. His wife, Lynn, went on to receive a commission and Nick was the recipient of her first salute!

Nick is survived by his wife, Lynn.  He will be cremated at a later date and his ashes will be spread at sea in a private family service.

NOTE: This mission posting is to facilitate your voluntary participation in honoring this Vietnam War Veteran. For those interested, and all are welcome, we will be standing a Flag Line as this hero receives his Final Honors.  Please see the time table if you would like to participate.
