The family of Mark Lee Zess, age 61, has invited the Patriot Guard Riders to attend his graveside service and Military Honors, it will be our honor to do so.

Mark Zess enlisted in the US Navy on July 23, 1976. Once he was given his orders and was placed upon the USS Coral Sea CV43 San Francisco 96632, he began to enjoy what service had always meant to him with the comradery and brother to brother spirit. He was on board for over 3 years and 7 months and described his time on the ship as exciting and everything he wanted the service to be and more. He told stories of being at sea for many days at a time with no land in sight. He was honorably discharged on July 24, 1980. He received the Navy Expeditionary Medal.

When Mark completed his service time, he returned to his native home in California, to civilian life, and decided to go to school to be an Airplane Mechanic. Mark was a motor cycle mechanic, jet ski mechanic and airframe power plant mechanic. He worked a TWA airlines and Mid-Cities Motorsports in Paramount, CA. Mark's greatest pride was his children and serving his country. Mark loved to go to Lake Havasu and Dirt bike riding, but he really enjoyed the open road on his Honda Goldwing. He also had a passion for jet ski's.

Mark is survived by his siblings, Catherine Griffin, Philip Zess, Charles Zess, Scott Zess and Shari Zess. Mark had 3 children, Mark Philip Zess, Juliana Wilson and Jeffrey Zess and 2 grand children.  Mark Zess was a rock and he loved Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior.
