The family of a WWII Hero, Richard J. DeMarco, age 94, has invited the Patriot Guard Riders to be present at his graveside service and military honors.  We would be honored to do so.

Richard DeMarco enlisted in the US Army in December, 1942 at the age of 19 years old and served in the Asian-Pacific theater during WWII.  He worked as a lineman helping to establish power in remote areas.  He was honorably discharged at the rank of Sergeant in March, 1946.

After the military Richard worked for the US government, Department of Defense, as a mechanical engineer for 41 years until his retirement.

Richard and his wife were very active in community affairs in Ridgecrest all their lives from the time they moved there in 1954.  They worked the voting polls, they volunteered with and attended many youth sports activities and also were very active in Girl Scouts and Explorer Scouts.  Most of their spare time was spent with their family and family related activities.

Richard's wife of 61 yrs, Charlotte, preceded him in death in February, 2016, they are now together again.  Richard is survived by children Linda, Michele and Rick, numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren, and many extended family and friends.

NOTE: This mission posting is to facilitate your voluntary participation in honoring this Military Veteran.
