The friends of Sheldon Levin, 91, have invited the PGR to participate in honoring this American Heroes life and service to his country. It will be a privilege to do so.

Sheldon Levin was born March 7, 1926 in Wilkes Barre, Pennsylvania and entered Eternal Rest on January 8, 2018 at the age of 91 yrs and 10 months.  Sheldon was alert up to the end of his life. He quietly passed just minutes after he was visited by his caregiver, Betsy.

He joined the Army on November 13, 1944 and served in the Philippines and Japan and was disabled and poisoned by radiation when bombs fell near by his boat and Hiroshima. Sheldon was honorably discharged on August 20, 1946 but still carried scars both, physical and emotional, throughout his life.

After returning from Japan he worked for the military as a civil servant and he retired after a long employment with Seabees.

All his family is deceased. Sheldon was preceded in death by his mother Ray (Neufield) Levene, Father Charles Levene, Brother Lawrence and brother Haskell.  Sheldon is survived by his friends at Guitars for Vets, Loma Linda Chapter who were honored to have the friendship and support of Sheldon.
