The family of Patrick L. "Pat" Sims has invited the Patriot Guard Riders to attend his service and military honors, we would be honored to do so.

Pat Sims enlisted in the US Army in February, 1958 and served in the 31st Artillery at Ft Sill, Oklahoma.  He was honorably discharged at the rank of Private First Class (PFC) in February, 1960.

Pat was a gifted mechanic who worked for the legendary A J Foyt Racing Team in the 1960s.  He was an all around handyman who could fix or repair anything!

Pat married his wife, Norma Graham Sims, before enlisting in the Army. they were married for 61 years before she preceded him in death.  Norma's ashes will be interred with Pat's on Friday, forever joined.

Pat is the brother of one of our PGR members, Bernice Mattice, who attends the Veterans Without Family service at RNC regularly.  Our good friend and long time PGR member, Jim Frost, has made the request for the mission on her behalf.

Pat and Norma are survived by six children, Jane Holt, and sons Tony (Army), Mike (Marines), James, Kelly, and Jeff. 15 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren will be missing him as well.

NOTE: This mission posting is to facilitate your voluntary participation in honoring this Military Veteran.

IMPORTANT:  Please do not block streets or driveways and cooperate with cemetery staff at all times.
