We have been invited by the family of Jesse Manuel Martinez, 90, to honor him at his final services. There will be an accompaniment from Upland to Ontario (approximately six miles).

Jesse Manuel Martinez was born to Manuel and Juana Martinez on 11/5/1932, and had six siblings.

Jesse’s military service was from 1945 to 1953 in the United States Army.  He served in the Korean War and was honorably discharged.

After his service to his country Jesse enjoyed civilian life as a chef and kitchen supervisor at Chino Woman’s Prison.

Jesse was a family man and strongly believed in family first.  He was part of a very large family and loved all the family celebrations.  He also enjoyed visits to the casino and collecting coins.

He was married in April 1956 to Mary Martinez who preceded him in death in 2018.  Jesse and Mary had five children: Steve Tinoco, Adrian Martinez, Marcus Martinez (Renee), Greg Martinez (Stephanie), and Debra Martinez (Richard).  He also leaves behind 15 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.  He was a father figure to many nieces and nephews.  Jesse was loved by long time family friends and always made friends along his path in life.

NOTE: This mission posting is to facilitate your voluntary participation in honoring this military veteran.  For those interested, and all PGR members are welcome, we will be accompanying the hero and his family from the chapel to the cemetery, approximately six miles.  Please see the time table if you would like to participate.  For those who would rather go directly to the cemetery, we will meet you there

You do not have to be a veteran or a motorcycle rider to attend this mission.  All PGR members are welcome.  We encourage those who do not ride to attend in your car.  If this is your first mission, go to the initial staging area and you will be briefed there by the Ride Captain (RC).  Dress for motorcycle riding or dress casually if you are driving a cage (car).  Please feel free to attend any portion of this mission you can.  Please ride/drive safely.

Please remember that our mission is to stand tall and silent, and with honor and respect for our Heroes.  No talking, smoking, or cell phone use during the flag line or service.  Please keep radios off and engine noise to a minimum.  Observe the 15 MPH speed limit.  Remember, cemeteries are hallowed ground.  Show respect to all who are there, not just the ones we are honoring.
