The family of Petty Officer 1st Class David Darrel Jones has invited the Patriot Guard Riders to be present to honor this hero for his service to his country.   It will be our privilege to do so.

PO1 David Jones, 74, served his country for 21 years in the US Navy (1959 to 1980), time that included 3 combat tours in Vietnam.

In a second career David served with and retired from the China Lake Fire Division as an EMT and Firefighter.  He served from June 1983 to April 2001.

David was an ardent member of the Pro-Life and Catholic communities in Ridgecrest, having converted to Roman Catholicism earlier in life; he served at both Saint Ann's Catholic Church and Our Lady of the Desert Chapel.

David was preceded in death by a son who is interred at Ft Rosecrans National Cemetery.  And although he lived 230 miles away in Inyokern, CA, David’s wish was to be buried alongside his son.

This hero is survived by Carolyn, his wife of 34 years, 9 daughters - Elizabeth, Julia, Katie, Becky, Deanna, Theresa, Rose, Shelby, Helen, son Donald, 25 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
