The family of AMCS Errol “Ed” Denton Carroll has invited the Patriot Guard Riders to be present to honor this hero for his service to his country.  It will be our privilege to do so.

Ed served his country proudly in the US Navy from 1956 to 1980.  At the time of his discharge, he had attained the rank of Aviation Structural Mechanic Senior Chief Petty Officer (AMCS).  Ed was part of the great generation of military to serve during the Vietnam era.

After retiring from the Navy, Ed worked 17 years in Civil Service.  He loved riding his Gold Wing motorcycle with his wife Kay.  Ed and Kay are members of Gold Wing Road Riders Association (GWRRA), a worldwide association of which Ed became the San Diego CA1F Chapter Director.  Ed and Kay went on many runs throughout the U.S., with both having achieved the certification of Master Rider and Master Co-Rider.  Ed also participated in the PGR in honoring our fallen military and first responders.  Ed’s friend and fellow Gold Wing rider Lorenzo Lizarraga will RC this mission.

Ed is survived by his wife, Olivia Kay Carroll; son, Gerald Carroll, brothers; Daryl Carroll and Wade Carroll, and sisters; Alma Vasquez and Nora Carroll, 3 Grandkids and 7 Great Grandkids.  Ed is preceded in death by his daughter Stacee Moad and his son Jeffree Carroll.

The PGR has been asked to accompany this hero and family from the family home to Miramar National Cemetery where this hero will receive military honors.

NOTE: This mission posting is to facilitate your voluntary participation in honoring this Military Veteran.  For those interested, and all are welcome, we will be accompanying this hero and family to his final resting place. Please see the time table if you would like to participate.  For those who would rather go directly to the cemetery, we will meet you there.
