The family of Ernest Tyrone "Ty" Levesque, USN Veteran, has invited the Patriot Guard Riders to attend his service and military honors, it would be our privilege to do so.
Ernest T. Levesque enlisted in the U.S. Navy June, 1957 to January, 1961, then re-enlisted Sept, 1961 and was honorably discharged in August, 1965. He was a Radioman 1st Class (E6). He served proudly for 8 years, among assignments he served in Vietnam and was a proud Vietnam Vet.
After leaving the Navy he went to work for the California Department of Corrections in 1966, and retired from there in 1995 after 30 years of service at the rank of Captain. While with the CDOC he was instrumental in creating some changes within the department that are still in place today. One was 'no warning shot', creation and development of the SERT Team (Special Emergency Response Team) and implementation of the CAMP program.
Ernie was also a lifetime member of VFW Post 8547 in Moreno Valley, a very patriotic man who enjoyed fishing, shooting, golf, repelling out of helicopters, and skydiving, having taken his first jump on his 70th birthday.
Ernie was preceded in death by his loving wife of 46 years, Beverly, he is survived by 2 children, daughter Chyrill Sandrini (Byron) and son Scott Levesque (Kendall), 5 grandchildren, brothers Travis and Terry, and sister Tammy, and many other family members and friends.
