The family of James Thomas King, age 62, has invited the Patriot Guard Riders to attend the funeral and military honors of their Hero, it would be our honor to do so.

James King enlisted in the US Navy in 1974.  He served duty stations in Okinawa serving with the Chukar tails as a Navy target drone operator and at Pt. Mugu with VX-4 as aircraft electrician on various fighter jets. He was honorably discharged in 1980 at the rank of Petty Officer 2nd Class.

In civilian life he was a career Navy civilian, he served in the Navy with more than 6 years in uniform, he dedicated his entire professional life to helping develop the tools our folks in uniform need in supporting our country. Recently receiving a 40 year government service award from the Secretary of the Navy and Department of Defense.

Hobbies included: Leather work, Disneyland trips with his family, model cars, classic cars, traveling at every opportunity, time with his Family.

James is survived by his wife Peggy, daughters Elizabeth and Meggan, sons Timothy, Stephen and Matthew, 3 grandchildren and 2 brothers and a sister.

NOTE: This mission posting is to facilitate your voluntary participation in honoring this Military Veteran. For those interested, and all are welcome, we will be accompanying the hero and his family from the church services to his final resting place. Please see the time table if you would like to participate. For those who would rather go directly to the cemetery, we will meet you there.

1445 - Arrive Joshua Memorial Park set up Flag Line for Family and Hero.

You do not have to be a Veteran or a motorcycle rider to attend this mission. Everyone is welcome. We encourage those who do not ride to attend in your car. If this will be your first mission go to the initial staging area and you will be briefed there by the R/C (Ride Captain).  Dress for motorcycle riding or dress casually if you are driving a cage (car).  Please feel free to attend any portion of this mission you can.  Please ride/drive safely.
