The family of James Patrick Martin Jr., has invited the Patriot Guard Riders to participate in the accompaniment and services of their loved one and to honor this American hero; we are honored to do so.

After his education, Jimmy Boy, as affectionately named by his mother, enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1967 and was discharged in 1969. He did a little over two tours in Vietnam, became an E-5, Sgt. He received two Bronze Stars, and an Air Medal. He was in 1st Cav.

In civilian life he worked as a diesel mechanic, the same job he had in the Army. His moniker became “Diesel Jimmy”. His interests were fishing, camping, riding his Harley Davidson and spending time with his family. Jimmy had a large group of friends, some since childhood, and everyone who knew him, loved him.

Jim was the son of Karl and Diana Berstein, and is also survived by his daughter, Jaime Rae, grandchildren McKinsey and Kylee Rae, sister, Linda LoPresto-Davis, Nancy Thomas and brother Bobby LoPresto and many nieces and nephews and a special friend, Dennis.

NOTE: This mission posting is to facilitate your voluntary participation in honoring this Military Veteran. For those interested, and all are welcome, we will be accompanying the hero and his family from the chapel services to his final resting place. Please see the time table if you would like to participate. For those who would rather go directly to the cemetery, we will meet you there.

NOTE: Please enter quietly as service will already be in progress

Under the leathers and behind the shades
is a thumping, not of horsepower,
But determination of heart for our brothers, sisters and families

You do not have to be a Veteran or a motorcycle rider to attend this mission. Everyone is welcome. We encourage those who do not ride to attend in your car.  If this will be your first mission go to the initial staging area and you will be briefed there by the R/C (Ride Captain).  Dress for motorcycle riding or dress casually if you are driving a cage (car)

Please remember to post your condolences for the family at this link:
