Dear Southern California Patriot Guard Riders,

On behalf of the family and friends of Cpl. Richard H. Van Lierop, USMC, we extend our deepest gratitude for your unwavering support and presence during his funeral on April 25, 2025. Your dedication to honoring our nation's heroes and their families is a testament to the profound respect you hold for those who have served.  Your escort from the mortuary to the burial site, was not only an incredible display of respect and honor but also a profound comfort to our grieving family. Knowing that Richard was  accompanied every step of the way by men and women who honor the service and sacrifice of our military brought us immense solace.

Cpl. Van Lierop, who served with distinction in the United States Marine Corps, was laid to rest with full military honors at Riverside National Cemetery. Your presence provided immeasurable comfort to his loved ones, ensuring that his service and sacrifice were acknowledged and celebrated with the dignity they deserve.  The presentation of the memorial plaque to our Mom was deeply moving and will forever be treasured by our family. It serves as a beautiful reminder of the love, brotherhood, and patriotism that our dad, Richard, held so dear during his time in the Marine Corps.

Your commitment to standing guard at the funerals of our fallen heroes ensures that their sacrifices are never forgotten and that their families are surrounded by respect and dignity during their most challenging times. Your actions speak volumes about the strength of community and the enduring bond between service members and civilians alike.

Thank you for your selfless service and for being a beacon of hope and honor in our community. Your dedication does not go unnoticed, and we are deeply appreciative of the sacrifices you make to ensure that our heroes receive the tribute they so richly deserve.

With heartfelt thanks and admiration,

The Van Lierop Family
