The family of Edward Frank Santilli has invited the Patriot Guard to join them as they honor and say their final goodbye to their Hero. We are honored to do so.

Edward served in the Army as a paratrooper for approximately two years during WWII. He was medically discharged after a bad landing causing injury to his back.

As a civilian, Edward was a mechanic and owned a jewelry business. He owned the Firestone store on 7th St. in Victorville for 7 years. He loved attending western shows.

Edward is survived by three daughters, Rosemary Hernandez-Ennis, Anita Santilli and Lilian Santilli. He also leaves one biological grandson, six adopted grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. He loved spending time with his family.

NOTE: This mission posting is to facilitate your voluntary participation in honoring this American Hero. For those interested, and all PGR members are welcome, we will be accompanying the Hero and his family from the church to the cemetery, approx 2 miles. Please see the time table if you would like to participate. For those who would rather go directly to the cemetery, we will meet you there.

Time Table for 10 August, 2021:

10:00 - Stage at St. Paul’s Catholic Church, 8973 Mesa Rd. Lucerne Valley, CA 92356 https://goo.gl/maps/oUqNews1sSWCjJCR9

10:30 - Mission briefing and preparation for flag line as casket is transferred from the coach into the church

11:00 - Church services followed by accompaniment to graveside at Lucerne Valley Memorial Park, 32525 Hwy 18, Lucerne Valley, CA 92356 https://goo.gl/maps/tyZTcwrMNMGu3uQb9

12:30 - Estimated arrival at Cemetery.  Flag line as Hero is brought from coach to graveside services

Note: The family is scrambling to obtain Edward’s discharge papers or proof of service.  Without those, an Honor Guard will not be possible. Should this be the case, PGR members will fold and present the flag. I will have white cotton gloves available for this.
