The family of Harold A Greenwell, 89, has invited the Patriot Guard Riders to be present to honor their hero for his service to his country.  It will be our privilege to do so.

Harold Greenwell was one of our "greatest generation" that served proudly in WWII.  He joined the US Army Air Corps in 1943 and served til 1945 achieving the rank of Technical Sergeant (E-6).  He flew 35 combat missions over Germany and France including on D-Day.  He served as top turret gunner and Flight Engineer on a B-17G Bomber with 8th Air Force, European theater of operations.  Harold was awarded the European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal with 2 bronze battle stars.  The Air Medal with 3 Oak Leaf Clusters, the Distinguished Flying Cross and Good Conduct Medal.

He was a very committed husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.  He loved bowling, was a train enthusiast (enjoyed model trains) and most of all; he enjoyed time with his family.

Harold was involved with the VFW and American Legion providing numerous contributions to the posts and the community.

He is survived by his wife; Mary Della Greenwell, five children, six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
