UPDATE!!!  PLEASE SEE TIMETABLE BELOW

The family of BSMN Joe Ortega, has invited the Patriot Guard Riders to be present when their Hero is honored at his funeral.  We will be honored to do so.

BSMN Ortega served in the United States Navy during Korea (50-54), assigned to the USS Polluck AKS-4, in which he received the National Defense Ribbon, Korean Service Medal, Japanese Occupation Medal, and China Service Medal and honorably discharged.

During Joe’s work career, he was a small business owner, a school teacher, and a landlord.  He was known for his story telling and traveling the world. He spent his off time working on the family tree, learning and speaking Spanish, drinking wine, and enjoyed mostly just sitting around poolside or at the ocean.

BSMN Ortega was never married and had no children but he left behind numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

NOTE: This mission posting is to facilitate your voluntary participation in honoring this Military Veteran. For those interested, and all PGR members are welcome, we will be accompanying the Hero from Ayres Hotel & Spa in Moreno Valley to his final resting place. Please see the time table if you would like to participate. For those who would rather go directly to the cemetery, we will meet you there.
