The family of Hovie D. Phillips Jr. 65 has invited the Patriot Guard Riders to participate in the accompaniment and services of their loved one and to honor this American Hero; we are honored to do so.

Hovie enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1966 where he served in Vietnam until 1970.

Hovie had a passion for Harley Davidson Motorcycles, his lovely wife Rose Phillips, his dog T-Bone, and his John Deere Tractor. He was a Strong Stubborn Proud American that worked hard for his money for many years as Vice President at Grand View Glass.

He is proceeded in death by his mother Isabelle Lorrah Searcy, father Hovie Dee Phillips Sr. and his older sister Carolyn J. Anderson (C.J.), and many aunts and uncles and nephew Jason Phillips.

He leaves behind his wife of 24 years Rose Phillips, his sons Hovie D. Phillips III., Michael Phillips, Shawn Phillips, daughter-in-law Cynthia Phillips, step daughter Loni Aguirre, son-in-law Gabriel Aguirre, 7 grandchildren - Cheyenne, Felicia, Noah, Breadon, Raven, Ian, Evan, and many Brothers and Sisters, Nieces, Nephews, and Friends.

The family of Hovie Phillips Jr. has invited the Patriot Guard Riders to join the services for Mr. Phillips at Sunset Hills Mortuary.   Since there is no casket to accompany, the family has invited the Patriot Guard Riders to accompany them to their home and attend their Celebration of Life at the home of David and Traci Priest.  The PGR will lead the family back to their home in Spring Valley Lake a short distance from the mortuary.  Those that wish to depart may do so at this time, but all are invited to attend.

NOTE: This mission posting is to facilitate your voluntary participation in honoring this Military Veteran. For those interested, and all are welcome, we will be accompanying the hero and his family from the funeral services to his celebration of life. Please see the time table if you would like to participate.

You do not have to be a Veteran or a motorcycle rider to attend this mission. Everyone is welcome. We encourage those who do not ride to attend in your car.  If this will be your first mission go to the initial staging area and you will be briefed there by the R/C (Ride Captain).  Dress for motorcycle riding or dress casually if you are driving a cage (car)
