The family of Joseph Roy Lubic has invited the Patriot Guard Riders to be present to honor their hero for his service to his country.  It will be our privilege to do so.

Joseph was a member of our country’s Greatest Generation having served proudly in the United States Marine Corps in WWII.  Joseph was assigned to the historic 2nd Marine Division.  He participated in action at Guadalcanal, Tulagi and Florida in the southern Solomon Islands.  He also fought in the battle of Saipan.

Corporal Joseph R. Lubic was honorably discharged from the U.S. Marines on January 18th, 1946. He was awarded the Purple Heart for wounds he received in combat. He also earned the Marine Corp WWII Good Conduct Medal, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal with 2 stars, World War II Victory Medal, Combat Action Ribbon and Presidential Unit Citation with bronze star.

Joe settled back in San Diego and had two daughters, Barbara and Patti. They resided in Poway where the girls went to school. Joe worked in a meat packing company in Escondido.

Joe is survived by his wife Evelyn, two daughters Barbara and Patty, and his many grand and great-grand children.

NOTE: This mission posting is to facilitate your voluntary participation in honoring this WWII Veteran. The family has requested a Flag Line Only at the cemetery.

You do not have to be a Veteran or a motorcycle rider to attend this mission. Everyone is welcome. We encourage those who do not ride to attend in your car. If this will be your first mission go to the initial staging area and you will be briefed there by the R/C (Ride Captain).  Dress for motorcycle riding or dress casually if you are driving a cage (car).  Please feel free to attend any portion of this mission you can.  Please ride/drive safely.
