The family of James “Jim” Goddard has requested the Patriot Guard Riders to accompany him from his home to his memorial service where he will receive his Military Honors.  We will be honored to do so.

Jim was born on Feb 2, 1946 and passed from Service Related Alzheimer’s on July 27, 2020.

Jim served in the US Marine Corps from July 1963 through July 1967.  He was a Wire Chief.  He received a traumatic injury to his arm and head during a training accident. Jim was Honorably Discharged as a Private and received the National Defense Medal and a Good Conduct medal.

After his service, Jim continued serving his country and community and joined the San Bernardino Police Department in 1973 and retired as a Sergeant in 2001 after 28 years of service.

Jim always enjoyed outdoor activities to include boating, golf, motorcycle riding and free diving.

Jim is survived by his wife of 37 years, Cheryl, and his daughter, Kelsey Hawkins, who works for the Yavapi County Sheriff’s Department in Arizona; as well as numerous friends and co-workers.
