The family of Charles Clark Chalker has invited the Patriot Guard Riders to be present to honor their hero for his service to his country. It will be our privilege to do so.

Charles proudly served in the U.S. Navy 1976-1996 achieving the rank of Petty Officer 1st Class (AK1) He served on the USS Midway as aviation storekeeper during Operation Storm/Shield and was a member of the decommissioning crew when the ship was retired in 1992. He went on to serve at NAS Miramar until his retirement in 1996.

Charles enjoyed cooking for family and his church until his first stroke. He worked with the youth in the church and really liked being a sort of mentor for them.

He is survived by his wife, Sharon, his sons, Steven and Ezekiel, and his grandson Nicolas.

Note: This mission posting is to facilitate your voluntary participation in honoring this American Hero. For those interested and all PGR members are welcome. We will be accompanying the Hero and his family from the Mortuary in Chula Vista to Miramar National Cemetery (approx. 20 miles). Please see the timetable below, if you would like to participate. We encourage those who do not ride to participate in your car. If this is your first mission, go to the initial staging area, where you will be briefed by the R/C (Ride Captain). Dress for motorcycle riding or dress casually if you are driving a cage (car). Please feel free to attend any portion of this mission you can. Please ride/drive safely. Remember that our mission is to stand tall and silent with honor and respect for our Heroes—no talking, smoking, or cell phone use during the flag line or service. Please keep radios off and engine noise to a minimum. Observe the 15 MPH speed limit. Remember, cemeteries are hallowed ground. Show respect to all who are there, not just the ones we are honoring.
