The family of Mathew Scott Jenkins has invited the Patriot Guard Riders to be present to honor their hero for his service to his country. It will be our privilege to do so.

Mathew passed away at the age of 40 years old. Matthew had pancreatic cancer 6 years ago and it was removed. He had complications from surgery. One being stomach infections and that is one of his causes of death. The other cause was that he was in Japan when the nuclear reactor melted down a few years back.

Mathew joined the Navy from July 16, 2001, to December 28, 2018. He rose to the rank of AO-1 E-6.  He was in Afghanistan and in the Iraq War. (He was awarded many ribbons; family can’t find them).

He was too disabled to hold a job after being medically discharged from the Navy, because he would have to spend long periods of time in hospitals.

He loved his family and helping in the community. He had obtained his bachelors (work force education), masters (HR) and 2 technical degrees (electrician and criminal justice). He loved his two boys, & his wife very much. He would do anything for them and stop at nothing to go places and make lots of memories with them. He loved Wood working and working with his hands.

He is survived by his wife Jackie Jenkins, brother Owen and Sister Martha, two sons Joshua and Alexander Jenkins.

The family is asking for a Flag Line Only at Miramar National Cemetery.

You do not have to be a Veteran or a motorcycle rider to attend this mission. All PGR members are welcome. We encourage those who do not ride to attend in your car. If this is your first mission, go to the initial staging area, and you will be briefed by the R/C (Ride Captain). Dress for motorcycle riding or wear casual attire while driving a cage (car). Please feel free to attend any portion of this mission you can. Please ride/drive safely.
Remember that our mission is to stand tall and silent with honor and respect for our Heroes—no talking, smoking, or cell phone use during the flag line or service. Please keep the radios off and engine noise to a minimum. Show respect to all who are there, not just the ones we honor.
