Part 1 of 2 Parts

The Patriot Guard Riders is honored that we have been invited to be there when a WWII Hero who was Killed In Action (KIA) and has been missing for nearly 80 years finally comes home to be buried in the soil of our country.

1stLt Ernest L. Roth, age 20, was assigned as a pilot with the 359th Bombardment Squadron, 303rd Bombardment Group, 8th Air Force in Europe. On May 19, 1944 he was piloting a B-17G bomber while on a bombing run over Berlin when the plane was hit by flak and crashed. Six of the 10 crew members, including Roth, were killed in the incident.

1stLt Roth's remains were not identified until February 05, 2020, now he will finally be coming home for burial in his hometown of Los Angeles.

1stLt Roth is survived by distant family members who have never forgotten him and will now be able to receive some closure knowing their Hero is home.
