The family of Charles “Chuck” Henry Holenda has invited the Patriot Guard Riders to be present to honor this hero for his service to his country. It will be our privilege to do so.

Chuck Holenda, 95, proudly served his country in the US Army for 3 years (Feb. 1943 to Feb. 1946). He did his basic training in Biloxi Mississippi, then transferred to Sioux Falls, South Dakota for radio operator and mechanic training. He learned to send and receive international Morse code. He also learned operation and maintenance of aircraft radio equipment. Finally stationed in Sweetwater, Texas as an airplane armorer and was responsible for loading weaponry on P-47's.   For his service he was awarded the American Service Medal, the WWII Victory Medal, and the Good Conduct Medal.

Chuck was a Harley Davidson motorcycle dealer in El Cajon for 51 years. He opened his doors in 1948 and sold out in 1999. He was instrumental in starting the Laughlin River Run.  He enjoyed riding Harley's, racing dirt bikes and promoting motorcycle events. He also enjoyed fishing, camping, traveling, shooting pool, and spending time with his family and friends.

Chuck is survived by his daughter Deborah, grandson Eric, 2 great grandsons, 2 stepsons, 8 grandchildren and 18 step great grandchildren.

The family has requested a flag line inside the Elk's Lodge as he receives his Military Honors.  There will be a celebration of life in the dining room of the Elk's lodge immediately following the memorial with a buffet dinner, compliments of the family.   There will also be music and stories told about Chuck.
