The family of James Garcia, USA, have invited the Patriot Guard Riders to participate in his final Military Honors. It will be our honor and privilege to do so.
 
James entered the United States Army in April, 1968 and was honorable discharged in November, 1969 as a Specialist 4. He was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, and the Vietnam Service Medal.
 
After his service in Vietnam, James settled in Lompoc, CA. He worked both in the oil fields of Ventura and Santa Barbara Counties as well as on the offshore oil rigs.
 
James enjoyed motorcycles, both riding and working on them, in his time away from work.
 
James is survived by three children and seven grandchildren.
 
Note: This mission posting is to facilitate your voluntary participation in honoring this Army Vietnam Veteran. For those interested, and all are welcome, we will be accompanying this Hero and his family from his memorial service to the cemetery for final military honors. Please see the timetable below if you would like to participate.

0945 – Flag line for Hero as he is transferred into the Mission
1100 – Flag line as Hero is transferred from Mission into awaiting coach

1130 – Form flag as Hero is transferred from coach to final resting place
1145 – Attend final military honors

You do not have to be a Veteran or a motorcycle rider to attend this mission. Everyone is welcome. We encourage those who do not ride to attend in your car. If this will be your first mission go to the initial staging area and you will be briefed there by the R/C (Ride Captain).  Dress for motorcycle riding or dress casually if you are driving a cage (car).  Please feel free to attend any portion of this mission you can.  Please ride/drive safely.
