The family of Carlos Nieto has asked the Patriot Guard Riders to bring this member of the "Greatest Generation". WWII Hero Home. It will be our Honor to do so.

Carlos was born in San Antonio Texas , August 21st 1921 and passed away August 18th 2019 three days short of his 98th Birthday.

PFC Nieto was trained in Seattle, Washington in Signal C School as a Plotter, Aircraft Warning Specialist,Radio Operator and Scout. His first assignment was with the 4th Interceptor Command . Carlos then entered the newly established Airborne Training Program where he received his Parachutist Badge. His orders sent him with the 82nd and 101st Airborne Divisions to Africa and Europe. Carlos also took part in the D Day Normandy Invasion. He was engaged in heavy enemy fire during those jumps.

Carlos earned his Combat Infantry Badge, American Defense Medal , American Campaign Medal, European African Middle Eastern Campaign Medal and his World War Il Victory Medal,

Our Hero was a member of VFW Post 1013 East Los Angeles, the last of its WWll Veterans.He will be missed by his Comrade Veterans as he embarks on his final journey. He was also a Media producer and film Star in Mexico, appearing in numerous movies and television novellos.

Carlos is survived by his wife of 35 years, Luz Nieto and two children.he was preceded in death by one of his son.

NOTE: This mission posting is to facilitate your voluntary participation in honoring this Military Veteran. For those interested, and all are welcome, we will be accompanying the hero and his family from the family home to his final resting place (approx 58 miles). Please see the time table if you would like to participate. For those who would rather go directly to the cemetery, we will meet you there.

You do not have to be a Veteran or a motorcycle rider to attend this mission. Everyone is welcome. We encourage those who do not ride to attend in your car. If this will be your first mission go to the initial staging area and you will be briefed there by the R/C (Ride Captain). Dress for motorcycle riding or dress casually if you are driving a cage (car). Please feel free to attend any portion of this mission you can. Please ride/drive safely.

Please remember that our mission is to stand tall and silent, and with honor and respect for our Heroes. No talking, smoking, or cell phone use during the flag line or service. Please keep radios off and engine noise to a minimum. Observe the 15 MPH speed limit. Remember, cemeteries are hallowed ground. Show respect to all who are there, not just the ones we are honoring.
