The PGR and American Legion families of Harvey Glen have invited the Patriot Guard Riders (PGR) to attend the Military Honors of their Hero as he makes his final journey. It will be our honor to do so.

Harvey was born on 20 January 1947 and entered into Eternal Rest on 29 November 2019.

Harvey served in the US Naval Reserve and was activated on 1 August 1968.  He served until 1 February 1973.  He was assigned to the Iradell County (LST-839), shuttling ammunition and cargo to various bases along the coast and rivers of Vietnam.  Harvey spent 19 months in the theater of operations involving Vietnam.

Among his  awards are the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Meritorious Unit Commendation, and the Combat Action Ribbon.  At the time of his Honorable Discharge, Harvey had achieved the rank of Seaman (E-3).

After his time in the service, Harvey earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Social Welfare, and his Masters Degree in Counseling in Marriage, Family, and Child Therapy.  He worked at various jobs as a Paralegal, Veteran Counselor, and High School Counselor.

Harvey has no survivors.  This Mission exemplifies what Veterans Without Family is all about.  Please make an effort to attend this Mission.

NOTE:
This mission posting is to facilitate your voluntary participation in honoring this American Hero.

Dress for motorcycle riding or dress casually if you are driving a cage (car). Please feel free to attend any portion of this mission you can. Please ride/drive safely.

Please remember that our mission is to stand tall and silent, and with honor and respect for our Heroes. No talking, smoking, or cell phone use during the flag line or service. Please keep radios off and engine noise to a minimum. Observe the 15 MPH speed limit. Remember, cemeteries are hallowed ground. Show respect to all who are there, not just the ones we are honoring.
