This is part 2 of a 3 part mission.

The family of SPC Adrian M. Perkins, and the U.S. Army have requested the PGR be present to honor this young soldier for his gallant service to his country.  It will be our privilege to do so.

Adrian, a resident of Pine Valley, CA, wanted to be a soldier so much that he asked his parents to grant him permission to enlist before he turned eighteen.  With that permission granted, he enlisted in the U.S. Army soon after he graduated from Mountain Empire High School in 2012. Adrian was involved in sports during high school and played both football and basketball, but his true love was the military.

SPC Adrian M. Perkins entered the Army in August 2012.  As an infantryman he was deployed to Jordan in October of that year.  His awards include the Army Achievement Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal and the Army Service Ribbon.

SPC Perkins was serving in Amman, Jordan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom when, on May 17, he died of in-theater, non-combat related injuries.  He was assigned to 1st Battalion, 67th Armor Regiment, 2ndBridgade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division, Fort Carson, Colorado.

SPC Perkins is survived by his parents, Aaron & Julie Perkins and family.

NOTE: This mission posting is to facilitate your voluntary participation in honoring this Military Veteran. For those interested, and all are welcome, please see the time table if you would like to participate.
