The Patriot Guard Riders have been invited to attend and support a fallen motor officer softball tournament to be held in Chino, CA.  Officer Jordan J. Corder’s life was cut short as he was entering an intersection on his motorcycle and hit when a small SUV attempted to make a left turn in front of him causing a head-on collision on 14 September 2014.  He was thrown from the motorcycle and suffered fatal injuries.  He served with the Covina Police Department for seven years.  PGR was there at his funeral service.

After Jordan’s passing, his parents, Mark and Diane Corder, and others, established a scholarship in his name at Citrus College to support aspiring students pursuing a career in criminal justice.  The Jordan J. Corder Annual Softball Tournament was borne to support this scholarship as well as help cover costs for the Big League Dreams, Chino Hills.  Each year, this tournament provides an opportunity for San Gabriel Valley police officers a chance to come together and celebrate the lives of their fellow officers.

This 10th anniversary tournament will be held on Friday, 27 September 2024.  The first ball game is scheduled for 0800 hours.  The open ceremony is scheduled for approximately 0900 hours.  Here, Jordan’s parents, the priest who officiated at his funeral service, and the LAPD bag pipers will enter the field.  The idea is to have PGR already on the field with their flags as the opening ceremony begins.  The bag pipers will play the National Anthem and arms can be presented at that time.

TIMELINE FOR OPENING CEREMONY, FRIDAY 27 SEPTEMBER 2024

0815:  Stage at Big League Dreams parking lot, 16333 Fairfield Ranch Rd, Chino Hills, CA.  Instructions will be given where PGR will line up on the field.   https://maps.app.goo.gl/EMxHBCBrLoQTcnvX8
