SPC Matthew A. Perez, 20, USA(AD) - Long Beach, CA (Pt 2) - 30 Sep
« on: September 28, 2024, 10:33:00 PM »
The United States Army and the family of Matthew A. Perez, 20, have requested the Patriot Guard Riders be present at his funeral service and military honors.  We are privileged to participate.

SPC Perez sadly passed while training at the Joint Readiness Training Center at Fort Polk South, Louisiana.  Matthew always dreamed of joining the military.  After his time served with the Army, he aspired to become a police officer and become part of a SWAT team.

SPC Perez comes from a very large family.  Recently married, Matthew is survived by his wife, Jessica, daughter, Sophia, and his unborn child.  He is also survived by his parents, Vanessa and Jose; two brothers, Baltazar and Lino, and sister, Sophia, as well as many aunts, uncles, and cousins.  He also leaves behind many friends and comrades in arms.

NOTE: This mission posting is to facilitate your voluntary participation in honoring this Army Paratrooper.  For those interested, and all PGR members are welcome, we will be accompanying the hero and his family from the church to the cemetery, approximately 8 miles.  Please see the timetable if you would like to participate.
