Per request of our good friend Gregg “Digger” Walker (Walker Family Funeral Services) the family of Thomas David Rogers, Jr. has invited the Patriot Guard Riders (PGR) to attend the Military Honors of their loved one as he makes his final journey.

Thomas was born in Denver, Colorado on August 10, 1974 and entered into Eternal Rest on July 29, 2015 at his home in Moreno Valley, California.

Thomas proudly served his country with the U.S. Navy from October 1993 to July 2001. Some of Thomas’ awards/citations included Meritorious Unit Commendation, Good Conduct Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, Sea Service Deployment Ribbon w/1Bronze Star. He attended the Naval Nuclear Engineering School in New York. Thomas served as a Nuclear Machinist Mate and completed several tours of duty abroad the USS South Carolina in Norfolk, Virginia.  Upon his ship’s retirement from active duty, he was transferred to Seal Beach and served as a Naval Recruiter. Thomas was a Machinist Mate 2nd Class at the time of his honorable discharge.

After high school and while serving his Country, Thomas earned his Bachelor’ Degree.

After his honorable discharge from the military, Thomas owned and operated an Employee Placement Company.

Thomas is survived by his parents Thomas Sr. and Cynthia, his two daughters Kristen and Alena, his son Alex and his brother Chris Rogers.

NOTE: This mission posting is to facilitate your voluntary participation in honoring this Military Veteran. For those interested, and all are welcome, we will be accompanying the hero and his family from the church to his final resting place. Please see the time table if you would like to participate. For those who would rather go directly to the cemetery, we will meet you there.

Please remember that our mission is to stand tall and silent, and with honor and respect for our Heroes. No talking, smoking, or cell phone use during the flag line or service. Remember, cemeteries are hallowed ground. Show respect to all who are there, not just the ones we are honoring.
