The family of Ralph Garcia De La Torre Sr. and Risher Mortuary have asked us to pay final honors to a true American Hero. "The Greatest Generation". It will be our privilege to do so.

Ralph was born on October 24, 1919 to Samuel and Refugio De La Torre in El Paso, Texas. Ralph grew up being a hard worker and was never afraid of it. Ralph was like every other boy he played hard, worked hard, and did pretty much what he was told.

After Ralph's time in school he decided because of the times they were living in, to go into the Military and serve his Country.

Ralph joined the United States Army Air Corp on October 28, 1942. Ralph served for 4 yrs during which time he was stationed in the Philippines, and all over the Pacific Theater. Ralph received his Honorable Discharge on Jan. 11, 1946 earning him the right to wear the medals that were valiantly earned. Ralph received the WWII Victory Service Medal, American Campaign Service Medal, Asiatic Pacific Campaign Service Medal, Philippine Liberation Ribbon with Bronze Star, and a Good Conduct Medal.

Ralph got married and together he and his wife had a son and named him Ralph De La Torre Jr, After Ralph's Honorable Discharge went into the field of taking care of our Veterans.

Both Ralph Sr and Ralph Jr, who is Retired Military,  are members of the American Legion in Montebello and the Elks Lodge in Montebello.

In his civilian life after the military Ralph went to work for the United States Postal Service as an Engineer where he worked for many years.

Ralph passed on December 21, 2016 just a few days before Christmas.

Ralph leaves behind his son Ralph De La Torre, and many Grandchildren, & Great Great Grandchildren.
