The family of Finley A. Bobbette Bellew has invited the Patriot Guard Riders (PGR) to attend the Military Honors of their loved one as he makes his final journey. It will be our honor to do so.

Finley was born in Oglesby, Illinois on 26 June 1926 and entered into Eternal Rest on 22 December 2016.

Finley joined the U.S. Navy right out of High School in 1943 and served until 1947, serving aboard the USS Elkhart (APA-80) Personal Attack-Transport Ship during World War II as a Seaman First Class. He was involved in the Pacific war against Japan and received two Bronze Stars for combat.

After his honorable discharge from the Navy, Finley worked at Hunter Engineering, which became Hunter Douglas, Rohr Aircraft in purchasing, Toro as a materials manager.  In 1969 Finley and his family moved to San Diego to take a job as Contracts Administrator for Langley for the Space Shuttle Program.

Finley loved playing poker, going to casinos, singing karaoke and spending time with family and friends. After retiring, Finley move back to Riverside in 1990. Finley was a very active member and held many offices in the American Legion Post 289 and was a lifetime member of the VFW Post 9223.

Finley is preceded in death by his wife of forty-four years Bette Lou. Finley is survived by his daughter Sandra and son Curtis. He also leaves behind six grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren and eight half-brothers and sisters.

You do not have to be a Veteran or a motorcycle rider to attend this mission. Everyone is welcome. We encourage those who do not ride to attend in your car. If this will be your first mission go to the initial staging area and you will be briefed there by the R/C (Ride Captain). Dress for motorcycle riding or dress casually if you are driving a cage (car). Please feel free to attend any portion of this mission you can. Please ride/drive safely.

Please remember that our mission is to stand tall and silent, and with honor and respect for our Heroes. No talking, smoking, or cell phone use during the flag line or service. Please keep radios off and engine noise to a minimum. Observe the 15 MPH speed limit. Remember, cemeteries are hallowed ground. Show respect to all who are there, not just the ones we are honoring.
